Yakou Daniel N’guessan is a versatile recording artist, performer, percussionist, composer and producer originally from Ivory Coast, West Africa now making his mark in Atlanta, Ga. Starting his musical journey he earned a Masters in Contemporary Jazz and Music Production from INSAAC (National Institute of Higher Education in Arts and Cultural Activities). He has been involved in the local music scene, collaborating and performing with many Atlanta based artists since 1995. Yakou likes his coffee dark, roasted, ground and strong. Like his music it bridges continents blending West African rhythms, soulful vocals and global grooves that reflect his experiences in both Africa and Atlanta.  His sound carries the pulse of traditional percussion and the warmth of African melodies creating a world music experience.
